Victorian picture frame, 5" x 8 1/4", 1890's-1910. Made in France, glinting brass heavily molded floral design base holds a floating original convex glass frame which holds a 4 1/4" x 6 1/4" photograph. The frame is supported on a giant spring leg which also secures the glass to the frame with a friction hold. It releases by squeezing the spring together to change the photo. Unique!
